Margrét Bóasdóttir (IS)

Margrét Bóasdóttir absolvierte ein Studium der Schulmusik am Konservatorium in Reykjavik und ein Gesangsstudium am Konservatorium in Kopavogur, Island. Im Jahr 1981 schloss sie ihr Studium an der Staatlichen Hochschule für Musik in Mannheim und Heidelberg ab.

Es folgte ein Studium der Lied- und Oratoriengestaltung and der Musikhochschule Stuttgart. Sie hat an mehreren internationalen Lied- und Barockmusik-Meisterkursen teilgenommen und hält Vorträge zu den Themen Lied und geistliche Musik in Europa und den USA.

Margrét Bóasdóttir hat spezielle Programme für Kinder- und Jugendliche entworfen und leitet gemischte Chöre, Frauenchöre sowie Jugendchöre.

Margrét Bóasdóttir ist Gründerin und künstlerische Leiterin der Sommerkonzerte und des Chorfestivals am Myvatn in Nordisland. Derzeit arbeitet Margrét Bóasdóttir als Assistentin der Generalintendantin des isländischen Nationaltheaters.

Margrét Bóasdóttir studied singing at Kópavogur Music School and completed her studies together with a music teacher´s qualification from Reykjavik Music School.

She graduated from the Mannheim-Heidelberg Academy of Music with a concert diploma in 1981 and made further studies for Lied and Oratorio at the Stuttgart Academy of Music. She attended Master Classes for Lied and baroque music.

She has given recitals with Lied and sacred music widely in Europe and the United States.

She founded Summer Concert Series at Lake Myvatn in 1987 and is also the artistic director of The Choral Festival at Lake Myvatn held annually in June since 2003.

Margret has created special programms for children and youth at the Singing Academy.

She conducts mixed choirs, women´s choirs and youth choirs. She is presently the assistant of the CEO of The National Theatre in Iceland.
