6^th International Youth Chamber Choir Meeting Usedom
"Certainly, Lord" – Prayers to God

Date: August 11th - August 20th 2006

Location: Usedom Island (Baltic Sea)

Participants: 7 European youth chamber choirs; singers and accompanying
persons: max. 35 persons, max. age of the singers: 25 years

Accomodation: Hostels „Am Meer“ and „Strandgut“ in Karlshagen and Trassenheide, 2 - 5 beds per room

Workshops:
Christian Grube (D/ USA): Pieces from the renaissance, romantic choral music and contemporary music
Stan Engebretson (USA): Gospel, Spirituals, new American music
Michael Betzner (D): Improvisation, jazz

Concerts:
Choir-to-choir-concerts with a 45-minutes-programme for each choir, 1 - 2 additional concerts each on the island; musical contributions to
church-services; final concert with the results of the workshops; also spontanious appearences within the scope of the beach-concerts throughout Usedom

Expenses: (including accomodation and food, scores)
Choirs from Eastern Europe: 70,- EURO p.p.
Choirs from Western Europe: 110,- EURO p.p.
Travel-expenses will have to be paid by the participants.
It would be a great help if the groups would come with their own bus (if the bus-driver wishes to check into a hotel, the additional costs are about 55,- EURO a day).

Excursions: If desired, we can organize 1 - 2 half-day-excursions (additional costs):
- Sight-seeing-trip to the Space-Museum at Peenemünde free of charge
- Trip by boat to the Nationalpark on the island Greifswalder Oie 10,-- EURO p.p.
- Mölschow manor of arts and crafts (pottery, silk-painting, smithy, spinning-mill, landscapegardening) 4,-- EURO p.p.
- Bicycles for rent (1 day with a group!) 4,-- EURO p.p.

Swimming: Our hostels are situated directly at the long sandy beach of Usedom (about 100 metres to the shore). We shall see to it, that there will be sufficient time to go swimming. But we have to remind you of your own responsibility for supervision!
