Once more we invite 700 young people from all over Europe to sing, dance and make music at the 13th EUROTREFF. The aims of our festival are to provide young people with the opportunity to meet each other and the inhabitants of the host town and surrounding region in order to strengthen contacts as musicians and as fellow Europeans.

EUROTREFF will bear the slogan "Choir – movement". We will try exploring ways in which (choral) music can – alongside the actual music-making – branch out into acting or movement. For this we have invited specialists from various countries who will run workshops trying out and rehearsing different kinds of (choral) movement. In this way we hope to disseminate ideas and concepts which may enrich the musician lives of many choirs.
In the workshops the choirs will have the opportunity to join up with groups to rehearse and perform music (prepared in advance) together.

The AMJ is delighted to be able to stage EUROTREFF for the 13^th time in the beautiful and most significant Baroque town in Lower Saxony.

Regional meetings

September 1^st - 5^th / September 9^th - 13^th 2007

The regional programme offers choirs and dance groups from abroad the chance to get to know various aspects of the towns and the countryside of Germany. Past experiences with EUROTREFF has shown how important the personal contact of the German choirs to groups from abroad can be. Because of this we ask you to join the regional programme.

With their application to take part in EUROTREFF, the German group agrees to host a group from abroad for 3 or four days before or after the festival. To live in families, the common evening events and concerts can help to form close contacts, improve knowledge of musical literature and play an important role in furthering European ideals.

Conditions of application

Limiting age: 26 years.

Accommodation (with families, in youth hostels or in gymnastic halls) and food are free of charge; travelling expenses must be paid by the participants; please come to the EUROTREFF with your own bus. Each choir from abroad will receive the scores for the workshops as a loan together with the confirmation of its participation. The music has to be prepared in advance.

The closing date for application is February 15^th 2007. A definite confirmation and the invitation to the EUROTREFF will be mailed before April 30^th 2007.

Participation fee (including accommodation, meals, program): € 20,-- per person.
